Founded in 1996 in Lisbon, Mercal Consulting Group quickly saw its activity expanded internationally. Between 1997 and 2016, Mercal established offices in the Portuguese-speaking African countries, Eastern Europe, Brazil, and Spain.
In 2004 he joined the IMCN international network of consultants - The Independent Management Consultancies Network. It has a team of 230 professional management consultants spread across Europe, Africa, America and Asia.
In its long history, it has received several international awards, due to the excellent projects and services provided to our clients. During its long history, there have been several important milestones, some of which are summarized here. In 1998 was registered and builds a partnership with the World Bank, the African Development Bank and the European Commission.
In 1999 MERCAL was accredited with the Institute for Innovation in Training (now DGERT) as a training entity. As well as by APECA - Portuguese Association of Accounting, Administration and Auditing Companies, in which belonged to the board of directors.
In 2002, Mercal was accredited as a consulting entity with IAPMEI and AICEP. In 2004 he became a collective member of the Portuguese Association for Quality (APQ).
In its diverse and extensive areas of activity, Mercal has supported the Portuguese business sector to grow, to obtain financing, and to become more competitive both in the Portuguese market and internationally.
Between 1996 and 2023, Mercal carried out more than 3000 national and international projects in the areas of internationalization, Marketing, Management, Finance, Mergers and Acquisitions, Incentive applications, among others.
It was a pioneer in the support provided to Portuguese companies in the internationalization of their activities. For destinations, such as Latin America (Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Brazil), Middle East (Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Qatar) and China, Angola and Mozambique.
